2. My wife and I are adding on to our house. Do we need a building permit? If so, how much will it be?
Yes, you do need a building permit. The cost is based on how many square feet you are adding. Please supply plans for your changes to the Code Enforcement Officer, fill out an application, and the City will advise you on what those costs will be.

Contact the Spencer Public Works Department at 771-3428. Street crews will be dispatched to fix any pot holes you have on your street or Oklahoma County will assist if the City cannot.

Yes. Please report any faded stop signs or downed street signs to the Spencer Public Works Department for repair. That number is 771-3428. A street crew will be dispatched to repair/replace any signs.

The Public Works Department has a Streets Division. They maintain the streets and any signs that direct traffic. Please call Public Works at 771-3428.

No, the citizen is not charged for water leaks that occur on the city’s side of the infrastructure. However, the City still wants to repair the leak so we prevent water loss. Please call the Spencer Public Works Department at 771-3428.

11. What do I do if there’s sewer back up in my home on the weekend when the offices are closed?
Call the Spencer Fire Department at 771-3621. A member of the Public Works Department will be dispatched to help. If the back up occurs during working hours, you may call the Spencer Utility Department at 771-3226 or Public Works at 771-3428.

No, if the trash is in the city’s easement, the city must remove it. Call the Public Works Deparment at 771-3428.
