Deputy City Clerk/Treasurer

Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerk

 Essentials Responsibilities & Duties:

The City seeks a responsible and highly organized individual to process accounts payable invoices, keep account of all active open purchase orders and match to payable invoices as they arrive, work with City Clerk to develop budgets for the coming year, monitor the budget monthly to ensure that spending is consistent with the approved budget, help to ensure compliance with accounting policies, local, state and federal requirements, ensure that the city’s purchasing policy is enforced, ensure that all expenditures of city funds are supported by receipts and all proper documentation, and review original documentation, verify coding on all invoices.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Two years experience or combination of experience, training, and education in accounting.

• Computer skills in word processing, excel, access and spreadsheets.

• Must be detail oriented.

• Pre-employment drug-screen required.
